A Christmas Ballad (motion picture 2009)


A Christmas Ballad adalah karya novel klasik yang dibuat susunan sebagai sebuah film animasi dan dibuat susunan ulang dengan teknologi animasi yang modern yang dirilis pada tanggal 6 november 2009 di Amerika Serikat dan Inggris pada tanggal 3 nov. Film ini disutradarai oleh Robert Zemeckis dan Charles Dickens. Pengisi suara dalam film animasi ini selang lain ialah Jim Carrey, Colin Firth, Gary Oldman, dsb-nya.

Plot

Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) sosok yang bijak, orang yang tidak memikirkan orang lain dan hanya memikirkan dari untung dan rugi.Bahkan persahabatan, cinta dan hari Natal adalah sesuatu yang tidak diperlukan. Suatu ketika Ebenezer Scrooge didatangi sosok gaib bernama Jacob Marley (Gary Oldman). Jacob memberi kenal bahwa Ebenezer akan didatangi tiga sosok gaib yang akan mengungkap kisah perjalanan hidup Ebenezer. Tiga sosok gaib ini akan mengantar Ebenezer menempuh perjalanan panjang keterlaluan ruang dan waktu untuk membuka mata hati Ebenezer.

Yang muncul pertama adalah Ghost of Christmas Past (Jim Carrey). Ghost of Christmas Past ini membawa Ebenezer ke masa lalu untuk mengungkap apa sebenarnya yang membuat Ebenezer sangat membenci hari Natal. Setelah itu muncul Ghost of Christmas Present (Jim Carrey) yang mengantar Ebenezer melihat kebahagiaan dan penderitaan orang-orang yang berada di lebih kurang Ebenezer. Setelah tugas Ghost of Christmas Nowadays beres, muncullah Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come (Jim Carrey). Sosok ketiga ini memperlihatkan apa yang akan terjadi pada Ebenezer jika beliau tidak segera mengubah perlintasan hidupnya.

Pada berakhir beliau mengubah dari pelit menjadi seorang yang dermawan. Film ini mengisyarakat bahwa kita harus berbagi kepada yang membutuhkan.[i]
